6 reasons I hibernated last weekend

It showed me what I could survive on

A gorgeous weekend just went past.

But except for the four hours where I had committed to be at a social event, I hibernated at home. Here are the reasons

  1. My home gets a lot of bright winter sun throughout the day. Australian winter days are mostly post-card (sorry, Instagram) worthy
  2. I had bought new winter socks and they were warm
  3. My home office and bedroom are set up well for winters — warm colors, throws — you get the gist
  4. My pantry was stocked on Friday evening. This includes green-tea, mint, and honey
  5. I had two unread books that were waiting on me
  6. It just so happened that I did not have too many events I had committed to

I enjoyed it. I asked myself — Why?

Everything that my body and soul needed was right at home. On this particular weekend, those quenched my soul.

Sunshine, warm rooms, colours that exuded warmth, food for the body, a detoxing drink, a few good people, words and ideas for the soul, a lot of reflection time, peace, and quiet.

I have just discovered my survival kit.
